Welcome to Cats Protection Chiltern Branch

We’re here to support cats and kittens in the Chilterns, covering postcodes: HP5, HP16, HP17, HP18, HP19, HP20, HP21, HP22, HP23, HP27, OX9, OX39. 

Run by a small team of dedicated, cat-loving volunteers, we’re passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in the Chilterns, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, offering support with neutering, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within the Chilterns area. Cat adoption in the Chilterns

Could you provide a loving new home for a cat in the Chilterns area? During the process of adopting a cat from us, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship. Our current adoption fees are £90 for cats aged over 6 months and £110 for kittens aged under 6 months.

From 1st May 2024 the new adoption fees will be £100 for cats aged over 6 months and £120 for kittens aged under 6 months.

Alternatively, we’d love to hear from you on: 0345 260 2396 or email us at: enquiries@chiltern.cats.org.uk with your details, where you are based and what kind of cat you’re looking for, and one of our friendly team will be in touch as soon as possible. Please note, our branch is run by volunteers around other commitments, so it may take us a short while to get back to you.

Volunteer at Cats Protection Chiltern Branch

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Chiltern Branch simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of the Chilterns, you'll enjoy practical benefits such as discounted pet insurance. Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) Volunteer

Unfortunately thousands of cats each year are abandoned or have strayed and rely on charities like Cats Protection for help. Becoming a TNR volunteer is one way you can make a real difference to cats in your local area. Our TNR volunteers help reduce the number of feral cats by raising awareness of our TNR programmes, setting humane traps to safely capture cats, taking them to local vets to be neutered, and hopefully returning them back to their territory. Across the UK, many cats are cared for by volunteer fosterers who provide a stable, safe and loving environment in their homes or in purpose-built pens in their gardens. They provide vital hands-on care and accommodation to stray or abandoned cats or cats whose owners could sadly no longer keep them, and are part of a dedicated team of volunteers committed to finding new homes for cats in need. Chiltern - Contact Details

As we are all volunteers, and many of us work full time or have other commitments, we can't always get back to you immediately, so please be patient. We do check our messages regularly and will get back to you asap.


Postal Address - This is our postal address and a location where deliveries/donations can be left with the reception staff between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
We are only able to accept donations of food and litter until further notice. We CANNOT accept duvets and pillows.
